The Council is guided by the Nurses and Midwives Act 2022
Registration is Conferred
Upon successful completion of an educational training program approved by the Nurses and Midwives Council Guyana.
Re-licensing
Registration and license to practice for foreign trained nurses is granted upon application.
Registration and license renewal is conducted annually from December 1.
Composition of the Nurses and Midwives Council
The Council comprised fifteen (15) members and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) who is an ex-officio.
The term of office for a sitting committee is three (3) years.
